Commodore's Message

Never in my life would I have imagined being in the leadership of a yacht club. Except for my Coast Guard time, I have always lived inland. So, it is truly an honor and privilege to be elected Commodore of the Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club for 2019.

The past year was life altering for a lot of us on many different levels. Collectively, we have lost houses, boats, vehicles, and soul mates. But it also has shown the tenacity, fellowship, and camaraderie that IS the Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club.

The message I wish to convey is that this is your club. I urge you to become actively involved. One way is to participate in one or more of the varied committees. There are quite a few, and they are always looking for new members and new ideas. We need your participation and particular skillsets in order to continue to be successful. In addition to our common love of boating, we offer excellent social, educational, and informative programs. Of course, we encourage you to embrace our sailing, racing, and cruising programs, which are some of the finest around.

This coming year will offer many challenges both individually and organizationally. If we work together, our 35th year, 2019, can be a great one.
